This year we desire to lead and equip students, adult helpers and youth ministers to be able to say with bold assurance that they “follow the Leader”. As students follow Christ in their lives, they will be “running their race” God has set before them. There is no other race to run and no one else to follow!
Camp theme: “follow the Leader”
It has been said, show me who you follow and I can show you what you will become; show me why you follow and I can show you what is the highest priority in your life. To answerer the question “where are you being led?” one must be completely honest with the first two questions. Our camp pastor will challenge students to answer these questions honestly, taking a hard look at why and who they follow. As these questions are being answered, the characteristics of a dedicated and sold-out follower of Jesus will take center stage.
Session theme: “run your race”
While at MOG/WOG it is our goal to equip your students, adults, and you to be able to say “we are following the Leader – Christ, as we run our race for His glory.” Students who are running their race for Christ with all they are, is an awesome thing! During this time, campers will be challenged and encouraged to “light their torch, run with their torch, and to pass their torch” as they run for the Glory of God! Christ calls them to have an influence for His kingdom, what an honor!
Your students can get there, and part of your race is leading and equipping them to “follow the Leader” and encouraging them to “run their race” with integrity. We truly are praying for each of you. It is our hope and desire that MOG/WOG will be a catalyst to ignite a passion in your students, your adults and you to follow Christ and run with perseverance.
The camp pastor: Matt Greene has a heart for God’s people to live and chase after Him and Him alone. His passion is contagious! He is a great communicator and encourager of God’s word. He serves as pastor at Unity Baptist church south Ga. He also is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His passion and heart for truth is evident when he speaks.
Worship: The MOG/WOG worship band will be leading again this year. We have had a great time being led into the presence of God and this year will be no exception. The MOG/WOG worship leaders have a deep desire to lead their audience to open their hearts and minds to God’s presence.
Sessions: They are designed to connect w/ the students on a personal and intimate level. We have four session groups that are gender and grade appropriate, High School Girls, High School Boys, Middle School Girls, and Middle School Boys. Our goal is to create an environment where the Session speakers can meet the students on a more intimate, spiritual, and intellectual level. This will help keep the attention of a 6th grader and 12th grader.
Small Groups: These Leaders are some of the best we know. We spend time praying with each person, training them, and cover in-depth teaching of the camp material. We think too much of your students to simply find someone who can lead a discussion. Small Group time is much more than "talking", it’s a time to connect w/ the students. Small Groups are where your students will experience application; we truly desire to equip students to go home having been taught to apply spiritual truths, they have learned.
Adult Small group time: The adults will have a time of teaching & training. Students look to them for spiritual guidance and consistency. We will cover “developing a ministry mind-set,” when approaching God’s call upon your youth ministry. We desire to spark a passion for adult helpers to partner w/ you in ministry.
Tracks: Tracks are a time where students choose a class (or you can assign them). These are “extra” classes and each year these vary. Some classes will blend in w/ the theme and some will help strengthen students in other areas of biblical truth.
Recreation: We do find time to have a break and relax with free time and structured rec. time. We always have a blast at rec.
Church group time and Quite-time: You will have time to meet w/ your students (morning and night) to find out what God is doing in their lives. As you know, this is a time to cherish.
