Why should your Youth Group choose MOG/WOG Winter Retreat? As student ministers there are at least two questions we ask when a flyer comes across our desk: who are these guys? and What will they be teaching my students? What follows are your answers. It is a snap shot of our heart, who we are, and what we will be teaching. Also, we have designed MOG/WOG in such a way that no student will be lost in the crowd. Our goal is to build relationships through personal contact. Students may forget some topics that will be taught but they will not forget someone they connected with, someone that cared, someone that has taken time to get to know them. God gave a vision - a passion - to two Student Ministers, Rick Herman and Carson Fellows, while they were serving in the panhandle of Florida. In ‘03, they held the first MOG/WOG Winter Retreat, with a desire to provide a weekend where students would be deeply challenged in their faith. Their goal was to take youth far beyond just the Sunday-School answers; it was to challenge and equip students to be real, authentic Disciples of Christ. In ‘03, Ty Greene took on key rolls. The original vision God birthed still remains as the heart beat of the ministry and with each year we strive to help our students and your students dig deeper and grow stronger in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. What will they be teaching my students? We will be teaching God’s word! We stand on God’s authority not man’s opinion! We rely on the guidance of The Holy Spirit through prayer and in-depth study of God’s word! We focus on Christ being the center of all things! There will be a variety of avenues to convey what God will have for your students. Worship: The MOG/WOG worship band will lead us into the presence of God. Our camp pastor will preach God’s word applying truth to everyday life. Our session speakers will be able to connect with youth on their level. The sessions are age and gender appropriate. This allows the speaker to relate on a level of maturity and life experience which students can understand. Small Groups: We place a high responsibility on the shoulders of the Small Group Leaders; everything will rise and fall during the Small Group time. This is where the application will stick. There will be small group times for your adult helpers as well as for you, the youth minister
